EDGARDO RIVERA, M.D., F.A.C.P.

 

 

Henry Mark Kuerer, MD, PhD, FACS, is the training Program Director of Breast Surgical Oncology and a tenured Professor of Surgery at The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Kuerer is a recognized cancer surgeon and researcher who specializes in the multidisciplinary surgical care of patients with breast cancer. Dr. Kuerer is Chair of the American College of Surgeons Oncology Group Education Committee and a member of its Executive Committee, he serves as Principal Investigator for the National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project at M. D. Anderson, is an Editor of several clinical journals, and is a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons and the Society of Surgical Oncology. Dr. Kuerer is a regularly invited speaker at academic, national, and international meetings and has authored or coauthored more than 300 peer-reviewed scientific reports, editorials, and text chapters. Dr. Kuerer is Editor-in-Chief of the new definitive McGraw-Hill textbook, Breast Surgical Oncology. Originally from New Jersey, Dr. Kuerer attended Rutgers College and received his MD and PhD in Molecular Immunology at the State University of New York Health Science Center in Brooklyn, trained in general surgery at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City, and completed his fellowship training at M. D. Anderson.
